Brent Sturtevant continues to dominate the Michigan State Turkey Calling Competition and was crowned the 2015 Michigan State Champion.  His name will be added to the "Champions" traveling trophy for 2015; congratulations Brent!  With this competition being a sanctioned calling contest, we're proud to qualify several other callers for the Grand Nationals in 2016, including our very own Grand National 2015 runner up in the Owl Hooting completion, Mike Ives.  The Friction Division also continues to be very popular with Michigan callers due to a limited number of opportunities for participants to qualify for the Nationals. The Grand Valley Chapter was a co-sponsor of this calling competition and supported the continuation and tradition of The Grand Rapids Open by attracting out of state callers, giving them the opportunity to qualify for the Nationals as well. This event would not be possible without the continued involvement of the Grand Valley Chapter and its great volunteers. A big "Thank You!" to our excellent judges. Prizes awarded were guns, cash, & trophies. Next year is sure to be bigger and better due to quotes like the following: "First and foremost, thank you!  Shawn and I have never had that much fun at a calling contest!  You and all involved put on an amazing contest.  We, with more of our friends, plan on coming back next year."
